Health and Safety Information
Throughout the duration of the Covid-19 pandemic, San Alfonso has continually monitored the health and safety requirements and guidance as outlined by the CDC and the State of NJ. Since the end of the pandemic which included lifting Covid protocols earlier in 2023, the retreat house is offering retreats and programs at full capacity.
This requires a return to the practice of guests sharing bathrooms between adjoining rooms or the use of community bathrooms and showers depending on the wing assigned and the number of attendees at the retreat.
Although health restrictions may have eased, Covid-19 and other respiratory viruses continue to spread and can still pose a health threat to many regardless of vaccination status. To determine whether it is safe for a person to attend a retreat here at San Alfonso, retreatants are asked to assess their own personal health conditions against any potential risk that participating in this indoor public space may present to them and others. For the current level of Covid-19 community spread for Monmouth County, where San Alfonso is located, click here for the latest guidance from the CDC.
Also, please note that San Alfonso's facility is spread across a large area. Depending on overnight bedroom locations, this may require a significant amount of walking between the bedroom areas and the conference room, chapel, dining room and any outdoor locations. Please be aware of this when making a reservation. Our North Wing, on the north end of the property, does not have an elevator and requires the use of steps for the second-floor bedroom areas. If, for some reason, you are unable to manage stairs, please note that on your registration form.
Reservations will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. To reserve a space on a retreat, please complete a registration form (please see links below for specific form) and send it in with a $50 (unless noted otherwise) non-refundable deposit.
